There is no Saturday performance. The cost of each ticket is $10. Money, checks, and unused tickets should be returned to Dr. Lambert on May 22 or May 23 during class. Students needing additional tickets should ask Dr. Lambert during choir class.
Spring Concert and Middle School Community Service Hours - Parents, if you have any middle school students who need community service hours, we are looking for 4-6 middle school students to distribute concert programs and monitor the auditorium doors during our Spring Concert on Thursday, May 31st and Friday June 1st. They would need to arrive in the lobby of the LHS Auditorium by 6:30 PM. If you are interested, please contact Jennifer Follin at FollinFam@aol.com Many thanks in advance.
Spring Show Hospitality STATUS UPDATE! Thank you to all who have volunteered to bake or to help at the table on Thursday or Friday. So far, we have 9 bakers representing between 120 and 240 bags of individually wrapped goodies. We would like to have in the 300+ range. Also, we have 6 volunteers for either Thursday or Friday evenings. A few more volunteers would be great.
Baked goods (place in Ziploc bags or in saran wrap) will be sold for $1 each. Portion sizes should be as follows: 2 small brownies or one large one, 2-3 small cookies or one large one, or 1-2 other items such as cupcakes or bars depending on the size. Please label if items contain nuts. Four volunteers will be needed to help sell water and goodies before the show, during intermission, and after the show. Most of the baked goods should be brought to the Thursday night show; however, we might want to have a few bakers on reserve for Friday just in case. Please contact Judy Bailey at tjkbailey@aol.com or (703) 821-1407. Thank You!
All committee coordinators - It is time to update your binder with current year information and instructions. We will get together to "Pass the Binders" to the new coordinators on May 24 at 7:30pm, details will be sent to you by email. Even if you are keeping your binder, please plan to attend this fun meeting.
2012-13 Madrigals and parents meeting - A mandatory meeting will be held immediately following the Awards Picnic on June 6 beginning at 8:00pm for all Madrigal students and at least one of their parents. Returning Madrigals please bring your sweatshirt or long sleeve tshirt for the football program photo. Parents bring your checkbook to place orders for Madrigal uniform shirts, Renaissance Feaste goblet and optional window clings and yard signs. Full details will be sent to you in an email prior to the meeting date.
LHS License Plates - Instill school spirit and "congratulate" your new driver with a customized LHS license plate frame. Just go to the Chorus website, www.langleychorus.com, download the order form under Quick Links, and mail it in as indicated. Join many of the Langley students who have had a license plate frame made to recognize their team or musical participation!
Choir Uniform Resale: The Uniform Resale returns! Each year, the Choral Guild solicits donations of outgrown or no-longer needed choral gowns and tuxedos for a fundraising sale. All resale outfits have a set cost of $25, and the proceeds of the sale benefit our choral program. The resale takes place in the fall before orders for new outfits must be submitted, giving students a chance to purchase a used outfit instead of a new one. If interested in donating your uniform, laundered choral dresses and dry-cleaned tuxedos can be dropped off in the Choir Room any time before the last day of school. (Note: Non-graduating Madrigals and Women's Chamber Choir members will need their uniforms for their performance at the LHS graduation ceremony. Also, men if you wish to donate your tux but are wearing your tux pants for Spring Show, please wait and bring the entire uniform at one time.)
Parent Volunteers Needed for Car Wash - The annual Langley Chorus Spring Car Wash will be held Saturday, June 9th at the Great Falls Exxon from 9:00am – 3:00pm. Mark your calendars now! Participation is mandatory for students unless excused by Dr. Lambert. A sign-up sheet for students will be posted in the chorus room. Parent volunteers are needed to supervise the students. This is a great opportunity for dads to get involved. Parents should contact Cecilia Smith at cecilia.smith@fcps.edu to volunteer. Whatever you can manage will be appreciated. Even if you don't volunteer, please come get your car washed and support the chorus.
